I haven’t blogged in a while. The past week’s been pretty busy/I’ve been tired. I know that at the end of the week I have to take a week off because the computer’s not going to be on, so the proxy won’t be running. I might write something more profound in the next few days. Meanwhile, good luck on finals, all you Tech folks and anyone else who’s got them this week.

NBC Plans Movie on Former P.O.W., With or Without Rights. To summarize: I hate the media. Pointer: The Command Post.
So, my comment on the Bitch Girls’ blog was a good old-fashioned UGA bashing. I made that last post and while in the shower, I came to a realization: UGA bashing is just Tech’s way of redirecting the frustration of its students away from the Shaft that Tech provides and towards another party.
Georgia Tech and it students seem to take the Tech-UGA rivalry much more seriously than Georgia. For example, an entire issue of our student paper, the Technique, dedicates an entire issue (the To Hell With Georgia issue) to making fun of that agricultural school in Athens. The Red and Black, UGA’s campus paper, does no such thing. Georgia students, in general, take sports much more seriously than we do, and they know that Tech is a big rival, even if we haven’t had any good teams recently. But as far as I can tell, they don’t make it an indoctrination.
At freshman orientation, one of the first things we learn is the proper response to the exclamation, “What’s the good word?!” “To Hell With Georgia,” of course. Why is this so important that it comes up so quickly?
They are providing the future students with something to vent about. “When all else fails, remember that someone at Georgia (who of course is not as smart as you even if you are a Square Root Club member) is milking a cow right now.” That is the sort of thing that Tech students are indoctrinated with.
Seeing, however, that bashing UGA is fun, and does have the desired effect of reducing stress, I will continue to do it. I feel like such a tool of the Man.

So after making a comment on The Bitch Girls, I hear back from Baby Bitch in the comments on this entry. Thanks for stopping by! The name does not come from a local restaurant, though there are several Chinese restaurants in the area. It is actually the name of the Chinese restaurant I am going to start after I’m rich and get the chance to attend the CIA. And no, I’m not Chinese.

“The Illmatic”
Added the blog of North Korea’s glorious leader,
Kim Jong Il, to the blogroll. I’ve drawn so much inspiration from his writings, I thought I’d share with you all.

Garuda has made it to space…
We’re in orbit. Finally. Granted, it’s a sucky orbit, but it’s an orbit nonetheless.

2003 AIAA Student Conference Photos
Photos from the trip have been processed and are now available at desideratum. I’m getting better at the panorama shots, though there’s a couple of things that didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped. Enjoy.
This is also a good time to mention that I’ve brought the main site’s sidebar into agreement with the blog stylewise. I like the headings here to separate the links, so I’ve put them in on the main site too.
