Whisper Words of Wisdom

I’m listening now to Let It Be…Naked, the newly released Beatles album. It consists entirely of unadulterated versions of their recordings taken after the White Album.

It is very good.

Maybe…too good. It’s really quite amazing that the music of The Beatles has lasted this long, and the crazy thing is, it’s still good. The Beatles will outlast 99% of the music created in the past fifteen years. I can’t name a group who has had that sort of staying power and was formed after 1990. And other groups which still live on from the old days, like Pink Floyd, didn’t manage to have the wide appeal of The Beatles.

So, my theory is that The Beatles aren’t that good, really, but they had access to secret British military technology that controls our minds through their music. They were just the test case, so the benign message, “This is good music, and you will like it” is contained within. Who knows what other, more sinister messages are contained in British rock? It certainly breaks the mystery of why I think, “Hmm, God save the Queen!” every time “Brain Damage” comes on.
