Florence Photos

First batch of photos from Florence are up in the gallery.

As usual, click for more; there are many more to come, including some panoramas if I get the software together. Trying to download it right now at the DLF, which is actually free internet access if we bring the computer. Might work on those tonight.

In Florence

I’m in Florence now. More to come later, photos on Sunday or Monday (the Wi-fi place that I’ve found is a bit more of a hike.) Saw the Masaccio frescoes at Brancacci Chapel and walked to the top of the Duomo’s, er, dome.

Oxford Study Abroad: The Path to Oxford

Today, I depart for Europe. My approximate itinerary:

Cities in (parentheses) are stopovers. There’s a dot for London but we aren’t going there. Original image provided by Christina, fellow Group 2 traveler, with text labels added by me.

The cities that we are spending decent amounts of time in, in order:

  1. Florence, Italy
  2. Rome
  3. Venice
  4. Graz, Austria
  5. Vienna
  6. Munich, Germany
  7. Paris, France
  8. Bruges, Belgium
  9. Oxford, England

There will be hopefully frequent updates from me along the way. Entries will all be in the Oxford 2005 category, and pictures will be in the 2005-05-25 to 2005-08 Oxford Study Abroad folder.

To all my friends back in Atlanta, and to my family, goodbye. I’ll be home soon, and I won’t forget to write.

Chattahoochee NRRA

Last Saturday, after I moved and took a nap, I walked to (literally) the property next door to the apartment complex, which was the Chattahoochee National River Recreational Area. Of course, the camera came with me.

Goosey

Last Friday, on my way home from work, I happened to actually have my camera with me.

The geese had all moved on by Monday. Click for more.

Robofoto

So I was upstairs in Chris’ room last night helping him and some other friends celebrate his graduation, when he pulls a picture up on his computer for me.

Frequent readers of this blog (all three of you) might recognize the above image. For everyone else, here’s a little help:

Click the picture if you still don’t get it.

Seems Chris entered a “Put Marvin [the chronically depressed robot from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy] Somewhere He’d Be Depressed” challenge on the infamous Fark, and did a Google Images search for “georgia tech sign” to find the background photo. Amanda, who lives a few doors down from me in 307, was in his room earlier and noticed that the photo looked familiar and was, in fact, mine.

I don’t really mind, in fact, I’m pretty flattered, though at least he could have, y’know, read the name of the person he was goinking the image from. The actual Photoshoppery is very high quality though, and he gave me the quick rundown of how he did it, so it’s all good. The fact that it’s H2G2 related certainly doesn’t hurt either.

Feuerfoto

Bit of a bonfire and a party last night. Click for more.

Autofoto

I’ve been ignoring the blog recently, but I’ll make up for it: a few photos from the AJC International Auto Show and the Grand Prix Atlanta! Click either picture for a few more from each day.

Hitchhiker’s Guide: Quandary Phase
