I got my Wacom Graphire3 4×5 pen tablet in the mail yesterday. While I admit the artistic quality of my work above is perhaps lacking, it’s better than I could do with a mouse.

Seems Chris entered a “Put Marvin [the chronically depressed robot from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy] Somewhere He’d Be Depressed” challenge on the infamous Fark, and did a Google Images search for “georgia tech sign” to find the background photo. Amanda, who lives a few doors down from me in 307, was in his room earlier and noticed that the photo looked familiar and was, in fact, mine.

I don’t really mind, in fact, I’m pretty flattered, though at least he could have, y’know, read the name of the person he was goinking the image from. The actual Photoshoppery is very high quality though, and he gave me the quick rundown of how he did it, so it’s all good. The fact that it’s H2G2 related certainly doesn’t hurt either.

Driving to work this morning, I saw the above sticker.

More accurately, I saw an “I (Purina) My Pet” sticker, which has the Purina chekerboard logo in the place where the red heart is usually found on such stickers. From a distance, my not-so-catlike eyesight picked up the x-shaped blocks and the thick lower border, and my brain decided to make sense of it by turning it into the number eight. This was really funny, but I was disappointed when I approached the car closer.

I will not comment on the fact that I had lunch at a Chinese buffet.

It’s that time again.

First, on my way home this evening, winding through the Kentucky backroads [Uhh, you mean tomorrow evening, right? —Ed. Oh, right.] Winding through the Kentucky backroads, I did see an actual, live, wild rabbit. My car [you mean hrududu —Ed.] failed to hit the rabbit, since I was at sufficient range, and it did bolt right back into the woods. There is no point to this story.

I missed the opportunity to receive chocolate from others. This should be rectified next year. On the other hand, Commuterrant is more than willing to skip the chocolate bunnies. And of course, if you happen to be a rabbit yourself, you’re best off just skipping the sweets entirely.

If there are humans on Mars, then why not bunnies on the moon?

An elil strikes! But the rabbits are smart. They had a decoy. Then there’s the case where the elil are in bunny’s clothing.

Moving on, we have what could be the strangest centaurs ever seen by mankind. (Also available in a wide range of other varieties.)

Bunny songs?! Oh, you mean like, “Brass bunny – that funny bunny//Brass bunny – junkie//That funny bunny…”

This one just screams big, pointy teeth! I think it’s that chic slightly-out-of-focus look.

At one point, I thought, eventually, I’m going to run out of bunny links. I mean, there’s only so many rabbit fans, right? Then I remembered that this is the internet and that, if Technorati is any clue, new bunny-related content is being created at the rate of several per hour.

The Easter Bunny is dead in one Florida community. However, a Garden Bunny will be made available. No word on whether it will be taking over the egg-laying duties. A stand-in has been found to answer his mail.

There’s a bevy of stop-motion bunnies this week. First up, rabbits look to be playing a big role in the upcoming Wallace & Gromit movie. We also have a few examples from Episodes 3 and 4 of Robot Chicken:

“The Blue Tortoise Shell is Mario Kart’s ultimate weapon. It magically finds the lead car in the race…and takes it out.”

In CotB I, we mentioned a famous bunny’s makeover. Not everyone likes the new look. That controversy notwithstanding, it seems that he’s done some films he’s not too proud of while in Europe.

I’ve also hit upon my third rightish rabbit blogger. In the linked article, she’s ranting about what might be the biggest rabbit-related controversy of the century so far.

“Do not run, tasty children! I am your friend!”

Maybe I need to find myself some of this dwarven stout. Although he says it tastes, quote, “foul.” Making me wonder, why drink it in the first place, when there’s almost certainly something that tastes better, or at least is less filling?

Here’s photographic evidence of a rabbit causing permanent damage to elil, in this case, a dog. As noted there, the owner and the dog both took it personally.

It’s time for another round of bunny links culled from the depths of the internet. Or the past few hours of postings to hit Technorati that have the word “bunny” in them. Your call.

Canadian readers (heh) in St. Catharines, Ontario, should buy some Bunnies for Cancer. Cancer bad. Helping cancer patients good. Chocolate bunnies tasty. I see no downsides here.

Discovery of the week: A couple of right-wing bunnies, including this naughtily-named (in Lapine, anyways) groupblog. Kehaar is probably partial to the Iraqi birdblogging they’re hosting, though.

And we have a report that the Easter Bunny has himself turned to evil.

Apparently, some cultures have confused rabbits with sheep. Other cultures have confused rabbits with…something.

Apparently, the Japanese also have a bunny thing, as do the Koreans. When I see some Chilean bunny material, we’ll know that the takeover of the Pacific Rim is complete.

First, you’ve all seen the TISM music video, so we’ll move on.

Watership Down goes out of its way to make the point that rabbits are not just cute and fluffy. Given half a chance, they will indeed beat the crap out of each other. Some bunnies can’t handle the violence and instead choose to end it all.

The lucky rabbits are able to get away from their violent nature and take up acting. However, their inability to count higher than about five leads to a very short attention span.

As we emerge from winter into spring, the rabbits are coming back out of their burrows. Unfortunately, none of them saw this week’s cold snap coming.

There’s also the odd bunny who’s already wearing the latest spring fashions. Of course this particular rabbit has had identity issues before.
