Bad News, Good News

Minor auto accident (no injuries) this evening. I was driving down Sixth Street, which has diagonal parking on one side, and someone backed into my (moving) car. Did you know that “illegal backing” will get you a citation? I sure didn’t. Anyways, I’ve got pictures to take tomorrow. They’ll end up on here eventually. Maybe after I finish my novel…

…and speaking of, I’m at 34,499 in NaNoWriMo, which is 501 words short of tonight’s quota, but I don’t think I’m going to make it tonight. It’s going to have to be taken care of in the morning.

Gee, I haven’t mentioned anything besides the book since November started. Well, the world of Other News would like to state that I’ve started another attempt to fix the Co-op Club, and after last night’s discussion I think we may be able to get somewhere with it. I’m definitely happy about the way last night’s meeting went.

But the novel has really been what I’m focusing on this month (at least in my free time). I realized just now that I’ve written it like a collection of very short stories, each of which is only a couple of pages long. Granted, they’re all related, but most books have chapters which are much longer. It looks like I might have thirty-five or forty chapters by the time this thing is done, with each one only having around 1100 words in it. Pretty unconventional construction. Oh well, as long as it gets written.
